Touring & Camping
There is no denying that staying in a caravan, motorhome or tent is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get to see and experience new destinations. Always plan ahead and make sure you chose the right type of pitch and size for your upcoming stay with us.
Questions about arriving, pitches or park rules? See the Colchester FAQs.
Colchester Country Park is a few minutes from the centre of Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, so you can pitch up and spend the day exploring its Roman heritage, Colchester Castle, and the town’s shops and restaurants. Colchester Zoo is close by, and the beaches at Mersea Island, Clacton-on-Sea and St Osyth are an easy drive.
Choose from fully serviced super pitches, hard-standing and grass pitches with electric and water, or simple grass pitches for tents. Two amenity blocks have private shower cubicles with free hot water, and there’s a laundry, a dishwashing area, accessible facilities and a large children’s play area, so the park suits families as well as couples.
Arriving and leaving: check-in is from 2pm and check-out by 12 noon. Early check-in from 10am and late check-out until 4pm are £10 each, subject to availability: just ask at reception on the day. Quiet time starts at 11pm.
Dogs: welcome. Your own dogs only, up to two per pitch, on a short lead at all times (£2 per dog). Dogs aren’t allowed in play areas or park buildings, please clean up after them, and banned breeds, including XL Bully types, are not allowed.
